>he's taken off his glove and is examining the electrocution burn he got. lmao.hey bud, you doing okay? you uh...look a little...mmm...worse for wear?
... It's fine, but if you want to look, I won't stop you. Just shocked myself trying to fix a computer.
mm...well i do know a thing or two about computers, being one myself.
> she leans in for a closer look
i can take a look around for medical supplies? surely there's burn gel somewhere around here
>he shakes his head.
I'll be fine, it doesn't hurt anymore.yeah no can do buckaroo if it stops hurting that's Bad we don't want that. you could be looking at nerve damage...or worse...like bofa
... Bofa...?
BOFA DEEZ NUTS!!!
11:52 PM

>oh.

Ah- Right, yes ma'am.
>he's just s. just sitting there.> these honkers are ur doctor now son
`
>very quiet. very sad. very ptsd.> she gives him a little pat.
10:19 PM
im not really great at this whole...loss thing. but...if you need anything
... I hate this place.
yeahhh....its...something else, isn't it. weird. for one.
Mm... Reminds me of somewhere I'd rather never see again.
10:21 PM
>he can practically hear the breach alarm again. if he wasn't so exhausted he'd get up and do a patrol to make sure that fucking machine wasn't hunting him down. He can't bring himself to sit up, though.ahhh... that i can understand.
>he sighs. his body feels like it's made of lead.10:24 PM
.. Sorry. I shouldn't be dumping this on you.
nope! no need to worry about me!! believe it or not im actually a mental health AI, so consider me HERE to listen!!
Still. The least I should have done is paid you ahead of time.
wait im supposed to get paid for this?
...
10:29 PM
Mental healthcare is very expensive, isn't it?
not when you've got me! im free!!
>.. he debates it, but he's not sure he's ready or worthy of therapy.
10:41 PM
> LOOKING AT HIM EXPECTANTLY
>... How does he even word it?10:43 PM
... It feels like my heart's made of concrete.
mmhmm...things are weighing you down? guilt? rage? things you can't let go of?
... Guilt, I guess...
i see. now...im sure you must be feeling at least some guilt over what happened here, but...i assume you've had some in the past as well.
>a quiet nod.10:46 PM
... Several people gave up their lives to save mine. I was supposed to die there with them, that day, but...
> she's coming back to give you continued therapy
11:17 PM
so survivors guilt. that's pretty common with something so traumatic. but on top of that...now you've lost a friend.
...
>he nods.
I promised I wouldn't lose anyone again, no matter what it cost me, but...11:19 PM
How do I keep failing...?
oh that's easy!
11:28 PM
you're not. you can't help it.
11:29 PM
look, it's nothing against you, but...you can't save everyone. no one can. and unfortunately...shit happens. and the only way to deal with it is to understand that...you're not at fault for the way life happens.
>He's silent, thinking through it. He frowns.
... I could have prevented what happened to Moros, though. I heard the screams, and...11:31 PM
>all he did was sit there and cradle one minor injury. He can't be this weak.but what would've happened if you'd died too? that wouldn't help anything. and then we'd be another body closer to a serial killer, and isn't that an unpleasant thought?
... I dunno. I've always felt it'd be fine if I died to protect someone I cared for.
> man he is mentally ill.
... Paying it forward, you know?and if moros had died anyway?
11:35 PM
or...do you think he would be happy? or okay? if he had to keep living without you? if he knew you gave yourself for him...that's a heavy burden
11:38 PM
i think...if you did die saving someone. you wouldn't want them to feel obligated to do the same, right? because isn't it better to protect someone and you both live? that way you can keep protecting others
...
>his frown deepens.
Of course not. It's.. just how I feel I'd make those who died for me proud. Preventing the same kind of massacre.
>this will make two games he's been in, now... And twice he's been useless to prevent it.but have you considered...maybe, juuuust maybe, you're making them proud by continuing to live? and. yknow, passing along wisdom to future generations and etc
